If you have visited our blog before you may recall we try to visit Sunset Falls USFS CG twice a year since it is an easy ~3 hours from our place on the Oregon Coast and such a picturesque little park. As in the past this camp is often our season-kick-off trip. An easy shakedown for the rig that has been acting as my wife’s Daily Driver since the prior season’s final outing.
Here are the falls and river just above the falls as seen during our June visit:
Ever since the park’s sites were able to be reserved we visit only with reservations. We did move from the original site (arrived and used Monday & Tuesday) on Wednesday afternoon as we were now the only ones in the park (typical for us once mid-week arrives). The first shot i took Tuesday of camp utilizing our Kelty Noah Tarp 20 out from the side rail on camp/curb side of van. This is my wife’s favorite tarp to date as it easily covers the swing out camp kitchen off the Aluminess Bumpers (link to details of box/bumper build).
and a few shots taken after the camp-move on Wednesday afternoon for the duration of our trip:
another shot taken under the Noah Tarp, looking toward the river (as an FYI, the chairs are our Alite Bison chair) :
and looking down at the river from a point just beyond the fire pit seen above:
It was an enjoyable trip despite daily rain (except for the last day, which i was grateful for since i hate packing up in the wet stuff!).
Next months adventure is to another of our favorite parks, Lower Falls (link to last year’s trip)
Thanks for visiting!
